We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to take the lead on Change Management activities related to a major infrastructure project in the North. This role focuses on managing change across NEC-based contracts, encompassing both permanent and temporary design works. These include a principal contractor agreement and several multi-million-pound design subcontracts.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of change control, from early warnings to compensation events, while collaborating closely with the client team and supply chain. The role also involves contract administration via CEMAR and includes the management of internal commercial and design teams.

  • Lead Change Management across design works under the main contract and associated subcontracts
  • Ensure consistent and accurate communication with both clients and subcontractors
  • Forecast change in cost and time in collaboration with planning and commercial teams
  • Maintain a robust risk register
  • Prepare and assess Compensation Event quotations in line with NEC contract requirements
  • Monitor and control scope changes to keep the project within budget

Requirements:

  • Degree (BSc or MSc) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong contract communication skills with excellent written English
  • Comfortable using web-based contract administration systems (e.g., CEMAR), Excel, and project databases
  • Strategic thinking and commercial foresight in managing change
  • Experience in commercial risk and opportunity reporting
  • Proven ability to manage client and subcontractor relationships
