About the role

We have a brand-new opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our café team. As an Assistant Manager in our café, you’ll blend your hospitality experience and communication skills to support customers and colleagues. Working alongside the Café Manager, you’ll learn the ins and outs of our operations. Together, you’ll help us to meet our business and financial goals, and when the Café Manager is away, your know-how will keep everything running smoothly. Whether you’re supporting your manager, coaching colleagues, or making sure our customers leave with a smile, this role is all about making every day a little better. So while you’re out doing that for others, we’ll do the same for you with flexible working options, a competitive salary, plus some other little perks that make life even sweeter.

You will be responsible for

  • Helping everything run smoothly by keeping a close eye on processes and sales standards.
  • Stepping up to oversee the full café in the Café Manager’s absence.
  • Finding fresh ways to improve our services for customers and colleagues.
  • Learning our menu inside out and helping our team to do the same.
  • Boosting sales by making sure everyone’s in the right place at the right time.
  • Assuring that all food safety and hygiene regulations are met and followed.
  • Supporting the Café Manager with colleague recruitment, development and training.
  • Working with the Café Manager to build effective communication within the team.
  • Creating a welcoming environment where colleagues feel respected, safe and valued.

You will need

  • A background in hospitality, at supervisory level and above.
  • A commitment to excellent customer service.
  • People management skills that allow you to lead by example and coach inclusively.
  • Good at planning and keeping things organised.
  • Confident using your initiative to improve ways of working.
