SEND Teaching Assistant Supporting pupils with special needs within the classroom. EYFS – KS1 – KS2 Location: Islington – within a friendly and diverse primary school Pay Rate: £90-£100 p/day PAYE (depending on experience) Contract Type: Full-time – Monday to Friday, 08:30am-03:30pm Start Date: January 2025 Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you want to make a real difference in a nurturing and inclusive environment? If so, we’d love for you to join our welcoming and vibrant primary school in Islington! We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work closely with pupils, helping them overcome challenges and thrive in their learning journey. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND, such as Autism, ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting learning materials to suit individual needs. Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages progress and independence. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupils’ development and wellbeing. Help pupils manage transitions, develop social skills, and overcome behavioural challenges. Support classroom activities and provide general assistance to the teaching team. Requirements: Previous experience supporting children with SEND is essential (experience with EHCPs is a bonus). A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude towards working with children. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
