About The Role
This is a part-time role: 18.5 hours a week.
We are looking for a Career Adviser to coordinate, deliver, and support the advice and guidance services at Pudsey Sixth Form College (PSFC). The role involves providing flexible help and support for applicants and students on a wide range of careers-related issues in individual or group settings.
The successful candidate will be a qualified career guidance professional, innovative, collaborative, and possess excellent communication skills. They should have experience in student engagement, knowledge of post-16 education, and familiarity with local, regional, and national Labour Market Information (LMI).
Experience and understanding of post-16 education options, including higher education, apprenticeships, and employment, are essential. The candidate should be capable of supporting students in selecting and achieving their aspirations through one-to-one guidance, career education sessions, workshops, events, and presentations.
What You Will Do
- Lead on career guidance (CEIAG) for PSFC, developing resources and interventions to complement the curriculum and progression routes.
- Provide one-to-one careers advice and guidance to students.
- Produce careers action plans and maintain records according to college requirements.
- Attend evening and weekend events, including parents’ evenings and open days, to provide careers guidance to students and their families.
About You
- Hold a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance.
- Possess a degree or equivalent higher-level qualification.
- Ability to engage and enthuse young people aged 16+ and their parents/carers.
- Understanding of barriers affecting student progression.
- Strong digital skills and ability to create and adapt resources for different audiences.
