We are excited to open up a new development opportunity for a Building Fabric Trainee within our Mobile Delivery Team as part of our new 'develop' initiative. This traineeship role is a perfect fit for those who want to add to their skillsets and progress into a building fabric role. The successful candidate will learn what good looks like for pre-planned and reactive fabric maintenance tasks through the guidance of your mentor, learning skills in basic carpentry, plumbing and civils as well as undertaking regular PPMs carried out on all our clients' key equipment and fabric so the stores remain safe, legal and looking great.
You will also be required to gain an understanding of how to complete all necessary documentation relevant to site works, both paper and electronic, including method statements, risk assessments and permits and other relevant safety documentation.

Initially, you will be enrolled on a 6-month programme which will provide training on several key elements within building fabric. Through a mixture of on-the-job, practical and theoretical learning, you will develop the essential skills required to be a safe, productive and successful member of the team. In the first phase (three months) you will build up your foundational knowledge covering things like our systems, the PPMs we undertake, locksmithing and Health & Safety. In the second phase (final three months), you will train on reactive tasks in a variety of trades, including plumbing, carpentry and painting. As well as this, you will also be required to complete a portfolio that evidences your learning, and will need 'signing off' by your Technical Trainer/Mentor.
Please note that the majority of the learning will take place at the National Training Centre in Stevenage, therefore regular travel into Stevenage (including occasional overnight stays) will be required of the successful colleagues.
Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
