In your role as a Kitchen Assistant at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: kindness. It carries across every aspect of our dementia, nursing, residential, and specialist care homes. Your responsibilities will include helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will love. You'll demonstrate high standards in cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, managing fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters, or cleaning up spills, you'll always prioritize resident wellbeing.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Some kitchen experience preferred
  • NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to study for one
  • Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Considerate and kind communication with residents and colleagues

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training and undertake additional relevant training. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
