Salary: £50,000-£55,000 pa FTE (i.e. £40k-44k pa for 4 day per week)

VisionFR is delighted to be working with a fab marketing communications agency to help find a sole-role Finance Manager to cover a 9-12 month maternity leave contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Manager to be responsible for the company\’s financial operations from transactional data entry through to reconciliations and month-end reporting. This is role will be part-time, 4 days/week, and perfect for someone willing to jump in and immerse themselves in agency life and provide support to the board, management team and wider agency.

You\’ll be a confident communicator, a numbers\’ whizz and a friendly face in the office.

Role description

Key responsibilities:

  • Running the day-to-day finances of the agency: purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank postings and bank recs, payment runs, be on hand for Paprika queries and general finance support to all teams.
  • Business partnering with the client facing teams to support on project management, billing, revenue forecasting and revenue recognition.
  • Paprika maintenance – Keeping the system clean and running efficiently.
  • Monthly management accounts, prep and delivery to the board once a month. Inc journals, income reconciliations, overhead reconciliations and production of income and overhead reports.
  • Ah-hoc reporting for management team / directors
  • Manage company cashflow, produce weekly cashflow reports plus adhoc 3-4 month cashflow projection reports for the board.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations – Salaries, prepayments, accruals
  • Payroll support – Liaise with our MD and outsourced payroll company to ensure payroll is completed accurately and to deadlines each month. Posting of salary journals.
  • Provide staff training on Paprika when needed
  • Oversee and approve client budgets
  • Quarterly VAT returns, annual PSA return and yearly P11D\’s
  • Overheads, attend monthly ops meetings and h2 reforecast meetings, give input on budget spends and ensure any overspends are flagged well in advance.
  • Produce year end reports and liaise with our outsourced accountants to produce year end stat accounts.
  • Support with capacity planning across the agency

Required experience:

  • 5+ years\’ agency experience, be it social, PR, media, creative etc
  • Good Paprika experience, must be familiar with all aspects of the programme including database maintenance
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong accounting background, must have produced management accounts for 3+ years
  • Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA

  • Clear communicator, able to explain financial performance to company directors
  • Hands on approach, needs to work alongside the team with client budgets
  • Been actively using Paprika a recent job role
  • Confident in month-end and management accounts production procedures
