Animator – HIRING ASAP

Location: 1-2 days in Twycross & 3-4 days working from home
Rate: £300 – £332 per day PAYE
Summary:
Technical animators are responsible for supporting the technology used to play animations in game. As part of the Technical Animation team, you will work directly with the Engineering team and support the Art, AI, and Game teams to build animation systems for runtime. You will be using Unreal to create higher standards of animation across a wide variety of our clients’ unique and stylised characters. The role involves ongoing R&D into new and emerging animation technology. This position is ideal for a problem solver with a creative technical mindset.
Skills:
- Several years of experience working as a technical animator in the videogame industry (not necessarily Triple AAA)
- Experience with Unreal Engine
- Experience in Animation blueprints (Locomotion)
- Proven experience in developing locomotion and character control systems
- Ability to work on engine animation blueprints including overlaying, IK, control rigs or similar technologies
- Completed at least one full game development cycle
- Good collaboration skills
- Experience with revision control software
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to implement gameplay animation features
- Support engineers and game teams in fixing game issues, troubleshooting animation graphs and artwork
- Monitor and improve performance issues
- Participate in R&D into emerging animation technologies
- Create tools to improve workflows and asset quality
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of 3D maths and creative problem-solving skills
- Programming or scripting skills
- Experience with motion matching and data-driven systems
