Established in 1994, our award-winning venues have been hosting diverse events for over 30 years, including comedy, music, drag, podcasts, talks/Q&As, and spoken word. The Glee Club Cardiff, located in Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay, features a 450-seat auditorium hosting weekly stand-up comedy, touring shows, live music, drag, and spoken word events.

We seek enthusiastic, hardworking individuals to join our bar and floor staff team, working approximately 2-4 shifts per week, mainly during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are more frequent from September to June, and staff are expected to be flexible and cross-trained across departments.

Pay: £12.21 per hour + tips, bonus scheme, paid every 4 weeks.

Responsibilities:

  • Read tickets and prepare drinks efficiently and accurately.
  • Clean, set up, and close the bar to high standards.
  • Assist floor team with drink service to tables.
  • Clear empty glasses, ice buckets, and rubbish during intervals.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar during service.
  • Greet and serve customers courteously and efficiently.
  • Minimize and record waste.
  • Restock and reset the bar during intervals.
  • Support the bar manager with deep cleans, cellar organization, and overall efficiency.

Additional Information:

  • Shifts typically start between 5pm and 6:30pm, ending around 10:30pm to 11:30pm.
  • We do not provide transport but allow leaving at reasonable times for public transport, with prior notice.
  • The first hour of shifts can be intense; ability to work under pressure is essential.
