Events and Activities Volunteer (Ad-hoc)
Mary\’s Meals
Mary\’s Meals is a global movement of people who believe that every child in the world has the right to receive at least one good meal a day and the right to an education. We provide school meals to over 2.4 million children in 17 of the world\’s poorest countries. We are powered by local communities who cook and serve the food to their own children and we support the local economy in the country by sourcing the food from local farmers and businesses.
We would love to have a network of people who have the drive to support our mission through helping at events across their local area.
Are you someone who could take part in events and activities that engage with people between 1-4 times a year (as and when you can) to support the work of Mary’s Meals?
What is the role of an Events and Activities Volunteer?
Volunteers can choose from a wide variety of ad-hoc activities to get involved in throughout the year including:
-Helping out at information and/or fundraising stall at existing events such as festivals, freshers’ fairs, local shows etc
-Taking part in bucket collections
– Hand out leaflets at church or community talks
-Taking registration forms and handing out t-shirts at our Annual Step by Step to Feed the Next Child Walks
-Supporting at fundraising events for Mary’s Meals that are being organised by other volunteers in your area
This is not an exhaustive list as our strong volunteer network throughout Northern Ireland are always coming up with new and innovative ideas to spread the word about Mary\’s Meals and to raise much needed funds.
Who would this role suit?
Someone who is passionate about helping to make a difference to the lives of children in some of the world\’s poorest countries, has a can-do attitude, is reliable and punctual and enjoys speaking to people. Someone who can commit to helping out at 1-4 events or activities per year.
