Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for an experienced 1:1 Tutor within Greater Manchester, ideally with experience within an SEN setting.

We are a Teaching Agency committed to making a positive impact in young people’s lives by supporting their development and education. Our Children’s Education Team works with local authorities throughout the North-West to support vulnerable pupils outside of mainstream education.

Subject areas include: Math, English, Science.

• Location – within the community or pupils’ home in Greater Manchester
• Type of work – Contract
• Duration – ongoing support
• Part-time
• Minimum rate of pay – £25/hr

Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service
• Overseas Police Check (if applicable)
• Two years of professional references
• QTS or equivalent tutoring experience
• Experience working within an SEN setting (preferred, but not required)

Further Information:

The successful tutor should be patient, empathetic, and capable of creating and delivering personalized learning plans. A therapeutic approach may be necessary to re-engage students with their learning. The goal is to provide structure in their daily routine and support their educational development, ultimately helping them reintegrate into mainstream education.

Prospero will work closely with you to monitor each pupil\’s progress, requesting weekly reports.

*Tuition generally occurs during school daytime hours, with occasional opportunities after school (3-4 pm) and in the evenings. Sessions range from 1 to 4 hours and can be scheduled daily or weekly.
