Calling all experienced Ocean & Air Freight professionals! My client is recruiting for a Freight Tender/Pricing Coordinator to work within a brand new team in their LHR (Feltham) branch. This is a worldwide logistics company specialising in multi-modal freight services, warehousing, customs and supply chain management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in either or both - ocean/air freight (ocean is preferred) and will be office-based, working from Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Main duties:
- Daily support of the freight team, ensuring forwarding activity, quotations, billing queries and other customer demands are met.
- Provide customers, overseas partners and internal teams with accurate quotes, tenders and freight pricing.
- Reporting and analysing quote statistics and trends with use of spreadsheets, databases and other internal systems including CargoWise, WWIC & WEBCARGO.
- Complete freight pricing for local, regional and global tenders.
- Contact carriers for rates and quote information.
- Participate in projects to improve processes & competitiveness.
- Ensure proper & timely handover of bookings & customer contract agreements.
- Work with the freight team to win, retain and develop profitable business.
Key Requirements:
- Strong background in ocean or air freight forwarding (ocean is preferred).
- Good knowledge of import/export procedures.
- Experience handling pricing and/or tenders within freight forwarding (preferred but not essential).
- Fluent written and verbal English.
- Strong negotiation & analysis skills/experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, planning & prioritising your own workloads.
