The Aviation Asset Management (AAM) team is part of the Global Aviation Finance Office (GAFO) within the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Division for EMEA (GCIB). Our team provides capital solutions to airlines, lessors, and investors, combining industry expertise with extensive relationships across the sector.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing Aviation Asset Management team, working with GAFO clients and AAM suppliers. The main responsibilities include:

  1. Operating as a member of the Aviation Asset Management team, assisting in delivering expert services throughout the loan lifecycle for various aircraft transactions.
  2. Differentiating MUFG through our asset management expertise.
  3. Creating and completing maintenance fly forward models for aircraft and engine deals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the first point of contact for AAM queries (internal and external).
  • Create and update open items lists for regions, projects, and tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Aviation Asset Management to develop and maintain processes, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders within MUFG and externally.
  • Support AAM services related to new business, existing business, workout cases, and expiring loans.
  • Represent AAM at meetings and conferences, delivering presentations as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, manufacturers, and service providers.
  • Learn all aspects of Aviation Asset Management from a bank’s perspective.
  • Assimilate large technical data sets to create Fly Forward Models.
  • Create Fly Forward Models.
  • Work with the wider GAFO platform to understand transactions from a maintenance perspective.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in aviation, transportation, or banking environments, preferably in a team setting.
  • Experience creating and working with aviation/transportation models.
  • Knowledge of Lease Agreements interpretation.
  • Planning and business awareness across banking or aviation sectors.
  • Ability to influence multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Data analysis and trend identification skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Fly Forward models in tools like Excel or Aerlytix.
  • Experience working with suppliers or service providers.
  • Knowledge of aircraft valuation, lease maintenance, and end-of-lease scenarios.
  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance costs and intervals.

Note: Candidates will be given time to develop necessary skills and are not required to be proficient in all areas initially.
