Overview

We\’re exclusively partnering with a highly respected alternative legal services provider to recruit an experienced negotiator for their growing Greater Belfast team. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with at least 1 year of relevant experience to progress their legal or financial services career, working directly with global clients on high-value trading documentation.

You\’ll be part of a dynamic, specialist team delivering expert negotiation services for Tier-1 financial institutions, with continued professional development and clear progression pathways.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Negotiation: Independently negotiate and draft trading agreements, including ISDA Master Agreements, repurchase agreements, and other capital markets documentation.

Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all agreements comply with financial regulations.

Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with global clients and counterparties to align documentation and resolve legal or operational queries.

Risk Identification: Flag and address key legal and commercial risks throughout the negotiation process.

Workflow Management: Maintain accurate records and contribute to knowledge sharing within the wider team.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year\’s experience in a legal or financial documentation role.
• Demonstrable experience working with ISDA, MSFTA, MRA, and GMRA documentation.
• Strong understanding of contract negotiation principles, ideally within capital markets or financial services.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong client relationships.
• Detail-oriented, with a structured and proactive approach to work.
• A degree in Law, Finance, STEM, or similar analytical discipline.

Desirable Attributes

• Exposure to legal or compliance functions within financial institutions or legal service providers.
• Familiarity with market documentation platforms and legal technology tools.
• Strong analytical and commercial awareness.
