Join Our Team as a Java Development Team Lead at SThree. SThree is pleased to announce weβre recruiting a talented Development Team Lead to join and guide our excellent team based in our office at 8 Bishopsgate, London. As a Java Team Lead at SThree, you will lead the Java Development team working on the Liferay portal. Your responsibilities include coaching and managing a team of Frontend and Backend engineers. Using Agile methodologies, you will oversee sprints, estimations, delivery, and platform upgrades.

Daily Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Oversee daily team requirements, including holiday management, HR activities, personal development, and communication.
- Manage upgrades and releases: Coordinate release cycles, including technical upgrades to Liferay, working with testing, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure risk-managed, timely releases.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high code quality and low defect rates pre- and post-release.
- Estimations: Provide accurate development effort estimations.
- Collaboration: Work with CTO and Architects to deliver outcomes aligned with designs.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Offer technical guidance and mentor junior team members.
- Task Management: Track progress and ensure effective task delivery.
- Security: Implement secure development practices to minimize cybersecurity risks.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience building web applications with Java and React.
- Proficiency in RESTful API design and implementation.
- Experience with test-driven development and automation tools.
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, e.g., Terraform.
- Experience working in Agile teams and full software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Liferay DXP is a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Identity Management (Azure AD, Azure AD B2C).
- Understanding cloud architectures, security, performance, and scalability in Azure.
- Best practices in software quality assurance.
- Team management experience, including HR and professional development.
