Blue Arrow are currently recruiting a Mobile Plant Team Leader to work for an established, growing business in the Thornton and Leyland area.
Salary: £49,579.00 per annum (DOE)
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Thornton - Post code FY7
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2-shift rotation. 6:15am - 2:15pm, 2pm -10pm.
Job Summary: The Operations Team Leader (Mobile Plant) will be responsible for the management and safe operation of the waste facility with particular focus on mobile plant duties, operational leadership and people first line management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Duties
- Waste Processing: Perform on-site waste processing and transfer activities safely and compliantly.
- Supervision: Oversee all activities at the waste treatment facility.
- Support: Provide hands-on assistance for all facility functions.
- Coordination: Liaise with various teams to ensure optimal operations.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure sufficient resources for facility operations.
- Compliance: Adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality management systems.
- Accident Investigations: Conduct investigations into accidents.
- Vehicle Inspections: Perform and coordinate pre-start inspections and basic maintenance.
- Documentation: Update routine activity documentation.
- Meetings: Attend business meetings and conduct safe starts.
- Audits: Carry out site-based audits.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist in recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Performance Evaluations: Conduct evaluations, mentor employees, and identify training needs.
- HR Procedures: Support attendance, grievance, and disciplinary management.
- Reporting: Ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures.
What You Will Bring:
- Essential Skills and Experience
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
- Mobile Plant Operations: Knowledge of operating mobile plant equipment.
- Procedures and Assessments: Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, and Work Instructions.
- Industry Experience: Background in waste processing, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.
- IT Proficiency: Ability to use PC and IT systems effectively.
- Certifications: National Plant Operators Registration Scheme or equivalent for equipment like Loading Shovel (FEL), Teletruck, Mobile Grapple, Forklift Truck (FLT), and Roll On Roll Off (RoRo).
