We are seeking an ambitious and aspirational Head of PE to join our vibrant school community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sports and physical education, with a proactive and forward-thinking approach to support the continued improvement of the department. This role offers the opportunity to lead a knowledgeable PE department that is driven by a passion for sports and the benefits of physical activity for all students.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Provide high-quality, strategic leadership and management for the PE department.

  • Articulate and implement a strategic vision for the department, ensuring the highest standards are set and met.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve the attainment and progress of all students within the PE department.

  • Formulate policies and practices that develop learning and quality first teaching to support and sustain improvements.

  • Lead and manage a highly motivated staff team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

  • Teach outstanding PE lessons across the age range, inspiring students to achieve their maximum potential.

  • Expand the curriculum and extra-curricular offer to include a wider variety of sports and activities.

  • A strong belief in the potential of young people.

  • High expectations of oneself and students.

  • A passion for PE and a commitment to improving standards across all year groups.

  • A commitment to raising standards of attainment and contributing to the success of the school.

  • Dynamic, innovative, and inspirational teaching and leadership skills.

  • Experience in teaching outstanding PE lessons across different age groups.
