We are looking for an experienced Housekeeper for a large 7-bedroom family residence in Moreton in Marsh, Cotswolds. This role requires the candidate to be self-motivated, positive, professional and reliable with an excellent eye for detail who can maintain the home to the highest standard and is able to offer longevity and flexibility.
Responsible for the general cleanliness and tidiness of the home, they will also be responsible for laundry, ironing, deep cleaning and organising. The ability to work autonomously and proactively are essential requirements for this role. Other duties will include ensuring household supplies are stocked and liaising with the principles for any other ad-hoc duties that are required. The candidate must be child and pet friendly as there are three young children and one dog in residence.
The main responsibilities for this role will be to take on the day-to-day cleaning of the home. The ideal candidate will be able to clean and tidy to the highest standard and be able to work around family life and all that that brings with it. They will be responsible for all laundry duties in the residence so previous experience in doing this will be essential. The ability to adapt to changes in the household and use initiative will be an advantage.
- Cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
- Changing bed linen, making beds, and tidying and cleaning bedrooms
- Laundry, and ironing, including caring for fine fabrics and organising dry cleaning
- Wardrobe management
- Ensuring household stocks and cleaning supplies are at sufficient levels
- Caring for antiques and artworks
- Organising cupboards
- Managing and receiving deliveries
- Watering house plants
- Reporting any maintenance issues
- Liaising with other team members
- Flexible approach to tasks and team support
- Creating cleaning rotas, household manuals and seasonal schedules
- Ad-hoc pet care
Essential requirements:
- A full drivers license
- Prior housekeeping experience in a private household
- Loyalty and trustworthiness; proven longevity in prior positions
- Fluency in English and eligibility to work in the UK
- High attention to detail and strong initiative
- A strong multi-tasker
- Flexibility to accommodate different shifts with notice
- Professional and discreet
- Able to work independently with little supervision whilst still being a good team player
- Reliable
- Excellent checkable references
Hours: Up to 32 hours
Days: Monday – Friday (occasional help at the weekends discussed in advance)
Salary: £18 - £20 GPH up to £33,288
