Hairdresser – Care Concern Group – Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire
Join us at Care Concern Group as a Hairdresser within our Mearns View Care Home in Newton Mearns.
Contract: Part Time – 16 hours per week
Shift Type: Days
Salary: £12.21 per hour
What You’ll Do
- Provide a range of hair services, including cutting, blow‑drying, and washing residents’ hair, ensuring each resident leaves your chair feeling refreshed and confident.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency in the salon area, creating a welcoming and hygienic environment for all.
- Use salon equipment safely and effectively, performing regular maintenance to keep everything in top working order.
- Have a strong understanding of care homes policies and procedures, ensuring your work aligns with the provided guidelines.
- Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding residents’ personal information.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and any additional training organised by the Home Manager to keep your skills sharp and stay informed on best practices in health and safety.
- Be knowledgeable about relevant Health & Safety legislation, using PPE and other safety precautions as required to ensure a safe environment.
- Understand the proper use of all chemicals in the salon, using them in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions to ensure safety and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven hairdressing skills with experience providing exceptional service in a caring environment.
- A keen eye for detail in both your hairdressing work and in maintaining a clean, organised salon.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with residents and understand their preferences.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine interest in the well‑being of our residents.
