Group Financial Accountant

Sewell Wallis is recruiting for a Group Accountant for a Public Sector organisation in Chesterfield, North Derbyshire, for a 6-month interim contract , looking to start ASAP .

This Group Accountant role will focus on Financial Management , overseeing a team of 4, and leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial processes and models to provide financial information and support financial planning and decision-making.

What will you be doing?

• Monthly forecasting, including monitoring delivery of savings, income projections, and reserves.
• Collection fund accounting.
• Financial planning, development, and implementation of effective budget processes.
• Supporting the delivery of financial training and advice to non-financial staff.
• Ensuring all financial activities comply with statutory requirements and accounting standards.
• Developing and maintaining financial systems with data integrity and supporting the design of effective, quality financial information.

What skills are we looking for?

• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
• Experience in the public sector industry
• Experience working within a Group structure
• Team management experience, ideally leading a team of 2 or more
• Willingness to travel to Chesterfield for the duration of the contract
