The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We offer a relocation package of up to £8,000 for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership. Terms and conditions apply.

We have several posts for experienced enthusiastic social workers to work in our Wirral Based Community Mental Health Teams. You need at least two years post qualification experience. We are an All Age Adult Mental Health Service.

You will provide an important and valued professional function working with some of the most vulnerable people in society. Your professional expertise and approach will ensure individual needs and aspirations are always supported, management of risk and safeguarding is of paramount importance. Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore you need access to transport.

You must hold a Social Work Qualification, and be registered with Social Work England. Experience of working with older adults with mental health needs would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

As an experienced social worker you can expect to have a capped caseload and be supported in relation to your ongoing development in the area of Mental Health. You need to have a passion/interest in mental health and there will be opportunities in the future to train as an AMHP. Ideal to have some experience of BIA DOLS Court of protection work complex safeguarding social care act.

You will need to be compliant with the Social Care Act, Safeguarding, Human Rights Act, Mental Capacity Act and associated Codes of Practice for this role. You will need to have experience of working with the service user group and be able to use social work methods to promote positive change, independence and wellbeing in accordance with assessed need, whilst promoting choice and control for adults and carers.

Working knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to apply legislation to practice including the Children Act 1989 and good IT skills to support accurate and timely case recordings.

Person specification

Qualifications
Social Work qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work; DipSW or equivalent. Be registered with Social Work England and able to evidence this. Evidence of continuing professional development in line with PCF. Required to undertake the practice educator award. Relevant post-qualifying/vocational training courses.

Knowledge and Expertise
Able to demonstrate practice which supports the core principles of the College of Social Work and Families and Wellbeing Directorate. Knowledge of legislation relevant to the Service Area e.g. Adults: Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA) and/or the Mental Capacity Act 2005; Disability Discrimination Act 1995; Care Act 2014; Safeguarding. Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements. Able to communicate verbally and in writing with a range of people including families and professionals. Awareness of current practice issues and challenges facing Social Workers. Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice. Able to work with individuals, families, carers/carer groups, irrespective of their circumstances and background. Must be willing to move across teams according to the needs of the service. An understanding of and an ability to deliver excellent customer service and to work in partnership with individuals, families, carers/carer groups, colleagues in the council and partner agencies. Sound assessment and interviewing skills. Demonstrate appropriate IT skills e.g. use of Microsoft Office etc. Exercise emotional intelligence and demonstrate a developing emotional resilience in relation to their job role.

Proven experience of working with carers. Experience of working with vulnerable individuals and families. Experience of arranging support plans and/or packages of care. Experience of working with partner agencies in a professional capacity. Experience of working with carers and families. Experience of arranging packages of care.
