Location: Chester Office

Hours: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm - Monday to Friday (1 Hour Lunch)

The Firm's successful Family Department is rapidly expanding, with an increase in work levels. This has demanded an increase in staffing levels in our Chester Office.

We have a vacancy for an experienced dynamic Private Law Solicitor, together with a Legal Assistant (secretary/paralegal) to work as a team.

SOLICITOR

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years PQE but with a desire to manage and who is ambitious and looking for the opportunity to progress. The candidate should have a strong background in finances, private law children and advocacy. Panel accreditation would be an advantage but not essential as this can be obtained upon employment.

The position will involve travel to courts and other offices therefore candidate must have a car available for work use.

Ongoing training, guidance and support from the team is provided.

Job role
  • Run own private law family caseload and work independently
  • Capability of undertaking Private Family work in all areas
  • Providing support/training to the team as required
  • Supervision of junior team members

LEGAL ASSISTANT

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Family Law department.

Ongoing training, guidance and support from the team is provided.

Job role
  • Providing full secretarial assistance to a solicitor
  • Some audio typing but ability to work under instruction an advantage
  • Arranging appointments and meetings
  • Telephone contact with clients and outside agencies
  • Diary management
