The predicted salary is between 20000 - 28000 £ per year.

To undertake a refuse or recycling collection service for our domestic and trade customers, be responsible for a sweeping area schedule, litter picking, and depot duties.

To deliver excellent customer service and be an ambassador for Operational Services. Manually collect wheel bins in variety, sacks or special collections, collect and sort recyclables on rounds or in depot, empty litter bins either singly or as part of a crew.

To assist the driver as required/requested in the use of Bartec in-cab technology. Ensure that allocated tasks are safely and efficiently completed. Manually sweep using pedestrian sweeper, butt barrow, broom or petrol blower, litter pick.

Comply with appropriate statutory requirements, Council policies and procedures including Health and Safety, security, reporting concerns to the appropriate person. Be alert and conscious of all vehicle movements when collecting from receptacles on the public highway.

Be familiar with the correct operation of the different types of loading equipment (mechanical lifters) for our vehicles including all safe systems of work, safety stop buttons where fitted. Understand the correct loading requirements of the recycling vehicle fleet.

Undertake Banksman duties when the vehicle is reversing. Identify contaminated waste and complete the correct rejection slips to be left with the receptacles. Wash down vehicles and equipment as required.

Actively support the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy. Contribute to the overall aims and targets of Operational Services, appreciate and support the role of other team members.

Be aware of, take part in Operational Services performance management framework and participate in training and development activities as required. Undertake any other similar duties as required to form part of a flexible work team.
