Principal Desktop Engineer – Up to £160k Total Comp
A globally renowned quantitative trading firm, currently experiencing strong growth, is seeking an experienced Desktop Engineer to join their expanding infrastructure team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a cutting-edge desktop environment at a company where technology is central to the business.

Role:
- End-to-end responsibility for the Windows desktop environment, including design, management, and 2nd/3rd line support across key business areas such as trading, research, and data.
- Opportunities to engage heavily in PowerShell scripting due to an automation-first approach.
- Drive automation of build processes through the implementation of 0-touch builds, AI integrations, and Intune.
- A diverse role involving work across hardware, software, networking, security, and vendor management.
- Regular opportunities to assess and implement next-generation desktop technology.
- Oversee hardware lifecycle management, including refreshes, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Administer and support collaboration tools such as M365, Teams, Slack, Zoom, and conferencing systems.

Requirements:
- Extensive EUC experience within Windows 10/11 environments, covering hardware, software, and networks.
- Strong PowerShell skills for automation and desktop configuration management.
- Advanced Windows build experience, including 0-touch deployments, Autopilot, and SCCM.
- VDI experience, particularly with Citrix DaaS.
- Strong experience with Intune and Entra ID.
- Confidence in administering and troubleshooting M365, Teams, Slack, and Zoom.
- Experience supporting conferencing technology, such as Teams Rooms, Surface Hubs, Crestron, Logitech, and Yealink.
- Knowledge of endpoint security tools, including Windows Defender and device monitoring.
