At Kedleston Group, we specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

As Group IT Support Engineer, you will provide support to schools and children’s homes in the Northwest region and occasionally beyond. You will be able to work with a relatively high degree of autonomy, manage your own workload and liaise with our settings daily to help fix, assist, and solve computer related issues. You will be supported by the IT Manager and will escalate issues when needed, whilst maintaining an approachable, customer-focussed demeanour and a positive, hard-working attitude.

The role operates on a hybrid basis combining working from home with an office base in High Peak and regular visits to settings in Liverpool, Bury and High Peak. Driver’s licence and access to reliable transport is therefore essential.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in an IT support environment
  • Industry recognised qualification (e.g. CompTIA A+, HND, foundation degree or a degree in IT, computer science or a related subject)
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry, preferably education or social care
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage own workload
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build collegial relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and protecting children
  • Willingness to travel regularly
