Oakgrove is a successful Special Primary school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). It serves the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport. We have recently converted to academy status and are part of the Four Rivers Family of Schools.
We are looking to appoint a full-time teaching assistant from April 2025. Oakgrove's aim is to provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive school where all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our pupils are encouraged to recognise their strengths and develop skills to cope with challenges in a happy, secure environment.
We wish to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience of working in a school environment preferably with primary aged pupils with challenging behaviours. You should have knowledge of the national curriculum and be supportive and caring to pupils and colleagues.
A full clean driving licence is desirable due to the nature of the job and use of transport may be required. Oakgrove School enjoys a close working relationship with the other special schools in the authority in addition to a local mainstream cluster. This allows for excellent CPD opportunities for staff members.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified teaching assistants. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The application forms and an information pack are available to download from here. Completed forms should be returned to the school via schooadmin@oakgrove-primary.stockport.sch.uk or posted to the school address above.
Please note that this is a private organisation and the appointed candidate will be employed by Four Rivers Family of Schools (MAT) directly.
