High Adventure are running a summer camp based in West Lancashire, near Ormskirk. We have a long history of delivering high quality outdoor activity programmes to Primary and Secondary schools from across the UK.

Activities include:

  • Climbing
  • Bushcraft
  • Navigation Exercises
  • Team Building Exercises
  • Archery
  • Axe Throwing
  • High Ropes
  • Water sports

We are looking for talented and passionate multi-activity instructors to be a vital part of our summer camp team. These roles are all on a residential camping live-in basis, working Monday to Friday each week.

The role is ideal for aspiring outdoor instructors, students on outdoor education courses looking for summer work, or anyone with a genuine passion for the outdoors who would also like to gain valuable experience working with children. Many of our Summer Camp instructional team go on to join our popular and successful full-time trainee scheme based in Yorkshire.

We will provide full training in each of our on-site activities prior to you being in charge of groups.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with Camp Managers to ensure service delivery
  • Setting up of Camp e.g. putting up tents and Marquees
  • Setting up, managing and running activity sessions
  • Managing equipment
  • Limited domestic duties once or twice per week e.g. pot washing and cleaning

Contract dates: Monday 19th May – Friday 20th July 2025 (including 2 weeks training and set up). We will then offer an extended contract to around 12 people for a few days to pack away the camp.

Benefits: All staff are paid in line with National wage directives as set out by HMRC; allowed accommodation deductions applied. Pay based on an average of 39hrs per week.

21 Yrs or above - Β£425 per week; accommodation and food will be provided in this package.

17-21 Yrs - Β£337 per week; accommodation and food will be provided in this package.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children or groups and/or skills in one or more areas of outdoor activities. Ideally (but not essential as we can undertake for the right candidate) with a current first aid certificate and DBS check.

If you can handle living in a tent for the length of the contract through good weather and bad whilst still turning up for work happy and enthusiastic every day, then you are the right person for this job!
