The Role

As our Governance Manager, you’ll lead the coordination of all governance activity, ensuring we meet all legal and regulatory standards. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Senior Management Team (SMT), and Board Members, you’ll drive continuous improvement across governance frameworks and ensure alignment with our strategic ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead governance arrangements including managing board and committee cycles, compiling board papers, and ensuring compliance with governance protocols.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, consumer standards, tenant engagement, and statutory record-keeping.
  • Support the delivery of our organisational strategic plan and provide governance oversight across all internal strategies.
  • Coordinate Board strategy days, training, and appraisals, maintaining a focus on skill development and Board effectiveness.
  • Act as a key advisor to leadership on governance implications of new initiatives and decisions.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Navigate complex regulatory frameworks (including the Regulator of Social Housing and NHF Code of Conduct).
  • Communicate clearly and influence at all levels — from frontline staff to executive leadership.

  • Confidently manage competing priorities and high-level stakeholder relationships.
