Job Summary

Community Midwife – Join MAX FORTUNE, INC.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate midwives to join our community midwifery teams and midwifery continuity of carer (MCoC) teams. You will be part of a supportive group of midwives who are passionate about providing high‑quality community care.

Our traditional community teams are based across four Midwifery Hubs covering Northampton and surrounding villages, and we also have a specialist safeguarding community team that cares for vulnerable families during the antenatal and postnatal period.

We provide evidence‑based care in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, supporting women’s choice of birthplace, including homebirths. We work collaboratively with the wider multi‑disciplinary team and support colleagues in hospital settings.

As a community midwife you will be responsible for a caseload of birthing people, run clinics within a hub setting, and provide care in homes. You will maintain your clinical skills, meet revalidation requirements, and support students on their learning journey. CPD opportunities are available to help you achieve your career aspirations.

The role will include internal rotation as required and participation in an on‑call provision to support homebirths and future service needs.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide midwifery care to birthing people during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods in home, hub, and hospital settings.
  • Bring continuity of care to local families and support the vision of Better Births and Saving Babies Lives.
  • Promote collaborative working partnerships and effective communication throughout the multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Maintain and develop your clinical skills and keep revalidation requirements up to date, including a yearly mandatory training week.
  • Ensure professional and clinical standards are maintained and evolve with new evidence.
  • Act as a professional role model for midwifery and observe the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain accurate record‑keeping in accordance with accepted standards.
  • Undertake relevant clinical practice in accordance with the Scope of Professional Practice.
