We are seeking a junior family lawyer to join the Practical Law Family team in the UK. Practical Law is a leading online know-how service providing rigorous, peer-reviewed resources, such as practice notes, current awareness and standard documents to help legal professionals work smarter and advise with confidence.

About the Role

  • With appropriate support and supervision from colleagues, research, write, commission and deliver well-written and up-to-date content for online publication for current market legal practice, of the quality and scope that meets business objectives and customer needs.
  • Maintain all content for which you are responsible to ensure it is up-to-date and reflects current legal and market practice and continues to be of the quality and scope that meets business objectives and customer needs.
  • Respond to questions from customers.
  • Develop working relationships with third parties with a view to obtaining contributions of content or improving content through third party insights into law or practice.
  • Ensure that you develop and maintain an excellent understanding of the legal market, our customers and their emerging needs, and competitors.
  • Interact effectively with customers, consultation boards and contributors; and work with all parts of the business to deliver insight into business strategies, other products, sales, marketing, and technology development.
  • Ensure that all content provided to customers meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with other members of the content team to share knowledge and best practices.

About you

  • At least 2 years post-qualification in family law practice.
  • Strong understanding of the law of divorce and associated financial and children proceedings.
  • Knowledge of or interest in domestic abuse law (preferred).
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to simplify complex information into clear and concise language.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of online research databases.
