Site Maintenance Operative

We are recruiting for a Site Maintenance Operative for one of our Clients based in Lincoln. This is a great opportunity for someone who has been a Handy Man who is looking for consistent work. This work is offered on a 13 week temp 2 perm basis – so after 13 weeks you will get a contract with the client. This is working Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm and is paying from £13 – £14.75 DOE Your Time at Work This role will be very varied so no two days will be the same. Your role could include the following – Undertake general jobs required in the building/office. – To carry out gardening and ground maintenance tasks. – Source products in support of the maintenance and ordering for various departments. – Assist in sourcing and controlling contractors in support of the maintenance and quality and hygiene departments. – Authorize and control contractors on site, ensuring all required processing systems are adhered to. – Maintain all firefighting equipment on site, liaising with the fire brigade when required. – Control and maintain the general building appearance, where possible without the use of external contractors – Organize areas for waste disposal requirements. – Assist in maintaining cleaning equipment and material stock levels. – Monitor and upkeep company vehicles. – Organize, record, and control PAT testing of all office equipment. – Maintain control of keys issued, site access areas, and locker issues. – To manage the issuing and control of workwear across the site, including measuring new starters. – Assist in the control of contractors for all types of maintenance and repairs encompassing all areas of the site facility. – Undertake all hygiene and quality responsibilities and directives to ensure that company standards are met and surpassed when possible. – Assist engineers in the procurement of all spares for all site equipment/plant. – Ensure all stock levels are noted, maintained, and recorded. – Liaise with the accounts department to ensure all expenditure issues and records are dealt with and carry out regular stock takes. – Perform 3-monthly checks on eyewash stations. – Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and sharing responsibility and information. – Work within government and company Equal Opportunities Policy and practices. – Work within government and company health & safety policies and practices at all times. – Work in accordance with all company environmental management requirements, taking reasonable care for the protection of the environment through your own acts/omissions and report any opportunities for improving environmental targets. – Be flexible in undertaking duties and responsibilities and may be asked to perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the position and are commensurate with its level of responsibility. Our Perfect Worker We are looking for something who can turn there hand to anything – so simple task such as decorating, minor repairs. You will need to be able to work on your own and plan your priorities. Someone who is self motivated and flexible – Someone with basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills would be advantageous.
