Team/Function Overview:
The Global Head of Market Operations Tech (MOT) production management role will oversee a large group of employee and contractor resources across the globe. The head of MOT Production Management will play a crucial role in the organization\’s simplification efforts and will collaborate closely with technology, business, and operations leaders to support the Markets business goals. The role reports directly to the Managing Director of Markets Production Management.
Role / Position Overview:
We seek a highly motivated leader to oversee a rapidly evolving Operations technology platform supporting a growing markets business. The position involves leading a team of application support engineers responsible for enhancing the safety and stability of Markets back-office systems, including Cash products, OTC Derivatives, FX Settlement, and Margin. The candidate will partner with business and product managers to deliver a top-tier Production Support team.
The Apps Support Sr Group Manager manages multiple teams through subordinate managers. A comprehensive understanding of how their sub-function contributes to overall objectives is essential, along with industry knowledge and awareness of competitors\’ products and services. The role requires strategic insight into the function\’s direction within the business, strong communication skills for negotiations at senior levels, and accountability for strategy execution, budgeting, planning, and policy formulation. Responsibilities include managing people, budgets, and planning, with duties spanning performance evaluations, hiring, disciplinary actions, and budget approvals. The role may involve cross-disciplinary activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the Market Operations production platforms, including Cash, Derivatives, Margin, and other products.
- Lead the transition from traditional technology operations to an engineering culture.
- Contribute to system architecture design and collaborate with end-users for system enhancements.
- Manage vendor relationships, including oversight of offshore managed services.
- Enhance service levels by improving operational efficiencies, incident and problem management, and knowledge sharing.
- Establish a culture of Cyber Security awareness and ownership across Markets Ops tech.
- Lead development teams to improve application stability and supportability.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to improve system reliability and availability.
- Develop frameworks for capacity, throughput, and latency management.
- Define onboarding standards and guidelines for applications.
- Coach team members to maximize potential and foster a collaborative environment.

- Understanding of trade settlement solutions and front-to-back processes.
- Experience with ticketing software.
Additional Technologies:
- Experience with modern operating systems and enterprise databases.
- Knowledge of Autosys or similar Batch Scheduling systems.
- Capacity planning and storage performance analysis skills.
