Studio Engineer

Using your strong proven skills, you will be responsible for taking designs to the next stage. Working closely with the Engineering teams across the globe, you will use your expertise to problem solve, whilst staying true to the design integrity, to build vehicles of the future.

Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Supporting the Creative Advanced Design team with advanced engineering studies, for instance regarding architecture possibilities and limitations, complete vehicle set-ups and possible show car studies.
2. Transferring and describing engineering and key legislative requirements to design.
3. Generate feasible solutions for technically challenging areas.
4. Managing and documenting agreements between design and engineering.
5. Being the voice of design, communicating design intent and needs within engineering.
6. Understand and implement technical input and limitations in the design models.
7. Document feasibility of design themes and raise critical issues.
8. Arbitrate, drive and document agreements between engineering and design.
9. Help setting up design clay models regarding standing heights and wheel positions.

Requirements

1. Complete vehicle engineering knowledge including overall vehicle requirements, being able to provide complex Catia studies.
2. Architecture engineering skills, being able to provide complex Catia studies.
3. Complete understanding of vehicle development process.
4. Very good Catia, Teamcenter experience. Experience of A2MAC and Jira would also be advantageous.
5. Ability to work individually as well as in cross-functional teams and being able to take full control and responsibility, with excellent communication skills.
6. Technical university degree or equivalent, extensive solid working experience from automotive industry is required.
7. Extensive automotive product concept and component engineering experience in aesthetic sensitive areas.
