PSV Mechanic

Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer with proven experience working on buses to play a key role in maintaining a modern and diverse fleet. The position involves planned and preventative maintenance, diagnostic fault-finding, and reactive repairs in line with Arriva and DVSA standards. The role of a PSV Mechanic will involve:

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
• MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA).
• Attending roadside breakdowns.
• Early/Day shift rota covering 5 out of 7 days Sunday to Saturday working with shift start patterns Day Shift: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Late Shift 2:00pm – 10:00pm.

Qualifications

• Qualifications for PSV/HGV maintenance and repair – Minimum of NVQ level 3 or any equivalent international qualification (will require confirmation).
• A full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
• Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.

• £25 per hour
• Overtime at time plus ½ for all additional hours worked over the working week.
