We need a creative guru with proven experience creating bespoke cosmetics packaging from scratch. Our client, a luxury beauty brand, creates entirely custom packaging solutions that push boundaries while maintaining functionality. They need someone who can hit the ground running from day one, leading creative concepts through to technical execution.
As a Senior Packaging Designer you will have:
- 6-8 years of experience in packaging design (primary focus with beauty experience ideal)
- Outstanding portfolio showcasing custom cosmetics packaging (not stock solutions)
- Expert understanding of materials (aluminum, glass, plastics) and production feasibility
- Strong 2D design skills with exceptional Adobe suite proficiency
- Technical knowledge to bridge creative vision with manufacturing reality
- Experience leading projects from concept through completion
- Ability to conduct competitor research and develop breakthrough concepts
The role involves leading creative packaging projects for a prestigious global beauty brand, working with cross-functional teams to develop concepts that translate across packaging and marketing touchpoints. Think complete Christmas collections, limited edition palettes with custom tooling, and breakthrough primary packaging designs. No line management responsibilities are required; this role is about creative leadership and technical excellence.
You will join an in-house design team within the creative department, collaborating with 3D designers, artworkers, graphic designers, and art directors to bring concepts to life.
The ideal background includes experience at luxury beauty brands or agencies specializing in beauty packaging. This could be with brands such as Burberry, Elemis, Jo Malone, &Other Stories or specific packaging agencies where the role has involved tooling and production across different materials. 3D experience would be an absolute bonus - across software such as Keyshot, Rhino or C4D.
