Ideal candidates will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assisting fee earners with the conduct of their cases;
  • Liaising with clients directly;
  • Drafting correspondence to clients, the Home Office and the Tribunal;
  • Undertaking legal research using a variety of online and reference sources;
  • Preparing applications on behalf of clients to submit to the Home Office;
  • Reviewing documents and preparing appeal bundles;
  • Arranging appointments at the UK Visas and Immigration and liaising with the visa agent;
  • General administration;
  • Managing caseload from start to finish;
  • To undertake casework and manage a caseload up to a level of accreditation for legal aid work;
  • Methodically analysing and summarising issues; finding solutions and communicating them effectively;
  • Must be willing to work towards Level 1 and/or Level 2 Immigration Accreditation. The firm will be willing to provide you training;

Requirements:

  • Degree level education with Legal background, could be through legal practice, similar paralegal jobs or studies or equivalent or LLB or law-related degree;
  • Ability to formulate detailed legal representations;
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and contract targets;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise own work;
  • An understanding and sensitivity to other cultures and commitment to Equal Opportunities;
  • Commercial awareness and practical IT skills;
  • Strong ethical standards, fantastic team spirit, humility, and passion about the work carried out;
  • Knowledge of an additional language will be preferred.

This role can lead to a training contract opportunity in the future. Please note that you should be able to commute to the head office in Northenden, Manchester.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time, Graduate

Pay: £21,000.00 per year (Negotiable depending on experience)
