As a result of our increasing projects and client portfolio, we are looking for a talented experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team based in the Aberdeen area. The role will be permanent following the successful completion of a 3-month probation period.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Astrimar is a growing engineering consultancy providing industry-leading reliability engineering, design, analysis and technology qualification services throughout the whole project life cycle. Our client base consists of operators & equipment manufacturers in the oil & gas, utility and offshore wind sectors, and increasingly innovators developing new energy transition technologies.
The successful Engineer will:
- Undertake design, optimization and analysis of innovative equipment for offshore energy, marine renewables, energy transition and utility sectors
- Working closely with clients, develop innovative solutions from concept development to deployment
- Support analysis of test and performance data for reliability improvement
Skills Profile:
- Excellent design skills including proficient use of 3-D CAD software
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, including proficient use of FEA software
- A proactive and creative approach to tasks and excellent engineering problem solving skills
- Proficient use of MS Office
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a small team with good interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Working knowledge of Inventor 3-D CAD and ANSYS Finite Element Analysis software
- Working knowledge of MathCad, MS Project, Power Bi and Power Query
- Awareness of reliability techniques (e.g. FMECA, FTA, ETA, RAM analysis)
Qualifications:
- First or upper second-class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with relevant post-graduate industry experience
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to travel to client sites and our other offices both in the UK and overseas
- Chartered Engineer or working towards CEng status
- Experience of working in offshore energy sectors and knowledge of related standards and recommended practices
