Job Term: Fixed Term Contract – until August ’25
Salary: Minimum wage for age (or Apprenticeship rate)
Appointment Type: Term Time only
Hours: Varied in accordance with contract (Mon – Fri), could include evenings & weekends.
Location: Various primary schools/community settings Office base: 98 Sheffield Road
Responsible to: Coaching Coordinator
MAIN PURPOSE OF POST:
- To deliver high quality physical activity and sport sessions in primary schools and in the community.
- To motivate and engage primary aged pupils to become physically active.
- To deliver fun, engaging physical activities at lunchtime, structured after school clubs, evening and weekend community clubs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Delivery
- To deliver high quality sport specific/multi-sport sessions for community clubs.
- To plan and deliver structured coaching sessions for lunchtimes and out-of-school hours appropriate to the pupils and as required by the schools.
Additional
- To be available to cover as required for one-off delivery.
- To be available to deliver and support other projects and one-off events for Spark Active, which could include out-of-hours working.
- To always adhere to Spark Active key conditions of employment.
- To always adhere to the Spark Active Safeguarding & Child protection policy. Individuals have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children and young people.
- To ensure all PE, sport and recreation activities take place in a safe environment with due regard to Health and Safety recommendations.
- To demonstrate knowledge of accidents, incidents, and emergency procedures and to report any incidents in the correct way.
- To ensure equity in sport and promote fair play and the Spark Active values where appropriate.
- To promote exit routes to individuals whenever possible.
