Specialist Electronic Manufacturing Services Company is seeking to add a Surface Mount Technology Operative to their team to support the continued expansion of this established and successful company.

ROLE

  • Operating machines e.g., soldering irons, wave guns, or pick and place machines to apply components to boards or other surfaces.
  • Operating machines that dispense solder paste, which is melted and then applied to printed circuit boards by a computerized process.
  • Observing manufacturing processes to ensure smooth and efficient running.
  • Performing routine maintenance on production equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Performing quality control checks on products to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Inspecting parts for defects before and after the production process to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Installing and testing components e.g., transistors, resistors, capacitors, diodes, and other semiconductor devices into printed circuit boards (PCBs) or other electronic components.
  • Installing and repairing equipment e.g., production machinery, robots, and other automated processes used in manufacturing.

REQUIRED

  • Good standard of secondary education.
  • Knowledge of electronics is advantageous; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) is advantageous.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Basic health and safety awareness.
  • Adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Strict attention to detail.

REMUNERATION

£27.5K p/a subject to qualifications and experience.
