A well-established and forward-thinking Surrey-based property developer is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. With a strong pipeline of residential and mixed-use schemes across Surrey and the South East, this is an exciting opportunity to take a senior commercial role and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality developments from inception through to completion.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial and financial management of multiple live projects, working closely with the internal development, design, and delivery teams. You will lead cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reporting to ensure developments are delivered on programme, within budget, and to the highest standard.

This is a key position within a growing developer, offering genuine long-term progression and involvement in landmark schemes shaping communities across Surrey and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all commercial functions from feasibility to final account
• Prepare and manage detailed cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts
• Develop procurement strategies, manage tenders, and negotiate contracts
• Oversee valuations, variations, and final account settlements
• Provide accurate commercial reporting and advice to senior stakeholders
• Drive value engineering and risk mitigation initiatives
• Support and mentor junior QS team members when required

About You

• 5+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor (developer, contractor, or consultancy)
• Strong understanding of residential and mixed-use construction methodologies
• Proven track record managing budgets and delivering schemes efficiently
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related field (RICS desirable)
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• Highly organised, proactive, and confident managing multiple concurrent projects
