Blended Learning Trainer with Smart DCC

Manchester Only – 6-Month FTC

Role

The Blended Trainer role sits within the New Services function. The purpose of the role is to identify and address training needs within the Smart Metering ecosystem organisation through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business functions. This ensures that DCC operates cutting edge, innovative, value driven services that meet the business needs.

What will you be doing?

  1. Work with the extended team and key stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of Smart Metering and develop, deliver, and maintain the DCC training strategy and processes to ensure an efficient and effective training function. Supporting the introduction of new services and BAU (Business as Usual) activities with DCC operations.
  2. Training development, identify, create, and deliver training for program initiatives in line with the ADDIE training model, to facilitate the successful introduction of new services across multiple industry partners.
  3. Ensure Training is relevant, validated by a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and fit for purpose by interacting with users to proactively acquire feedback, working with key stakeholders to update training as required and support the annual review of Training initiatives.
  4. Review and maintain the Training front door process, develop relationships with the identified SMEs within DCC and its Ecosystem to ensure the accuracy and relevancy of training initiatives.
  5. Act as lead for comms regarding Training, attend regular meetings with key stakeholders to identify/address training gaps and ensure the training function is addressing their needs and to identify areas of improvement to further enhance the function capability.
  6. Responsible for maintaining training records and producing reports to analyse the effectiveness of the training function and to identify opportunities to improve engagement.
  7. Work closely with the Knowledge function to ensure training and knowledge are aligned and identify any knowledge changes that require updates to training or would benefit from a training intervention.
  8. Support line managers within DCC operations with the onboarding of new staff.

  • DCC Service Delivery (Programme team delivering new services into the smart metering ecosystem)
  • Service Centre (Smart metering & Switching service management)
  • Service Providers (Managed by DCC)
  • Service users (Energy providers, Distribution Network Operators and Other users)

What are we looking for?

  1. Strategic & Business – Planning, Energy industry knowledge, Strategic thinking, learning, Organisational skills, People management, process management, Document writing, Training Needs Analysis, report writing.
  2. Communication and interpersonal – Active listener, Team working, Stakeholder management, relationship building, complex problem solver, Training presentation and facilitation.
  3. IT Skills – Advanced SharePoint, Advanced Office 365, Power BI, ServiceNow, Remedy, LMS Systems, Articulate 360/Rise, Camtasia, MS Forms.

Experience

  1. 5 years training experience, designing, and delivering training using the ADDIE training model in a multi-channel approach (In Person, Virtual, Recordings, Video, e-Learning).
  2. Experience creating, publishing, and reporting outcomes of e-Learning modules.
  3. Experience using LMS systems preferably within an ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) environment.
  4. Experience delivering training within a programmatic environment to industry partners.
  5. Proven experience delivering IT training, producing user guides and how to videos.
  6. CIPD learning and development level 3 or equivalent.
