Director of Engineering, Web Application Development Join to apply for the Director of Engineering, Web Application Development role at LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) Role Description This is a senior leadership position in the FTSE Russell Technology team. You\’ll be responsible for partnering with various business functions in the Index Business to understand the vision and accordingly build and lead engineering teams. The selected candidate is encouraged to drive key initiatives that focus on providing operational tooling involving a range of business processes that enable multiple functions – index creation, management, reviews, product, and research. This role requires a solid understanding of front-end and back-end architectures. To be successful, the individual will need to provide strong technology leadership across all project delivery dimensions, ensuring high-quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with FTSE Russell customers, providing technology leadership, expertise, and mentorship across software development phases. Design technical solutions covering user interfaces, back-end interactions, and process orchestrations, demonstrating an understanding of the entire Index lifecycle. Develop and implement roadmaps for platforms to support key index business initiatives. Architect and coordinate development of front-end tools and back-end services. Lead a team of engineers skilled in Angular, Java, Python, and SQL. Implement multi-cloud solutions (AWS, Azure) for scalable, reliable infrastructure. Evaluate new technologies and industry trends for process improvements and innovation. Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and security requirements. Coordinate with business analysts, product managers, and other partners to align technology solutions with business goals. Manage project delivery, monitor progress, supervise KPIs, and report to senior management. Skills Leadership & Team Management: Over 10 years of experience, leading global engineering teams with expertise in UI, process orchestration, and back-end interactions.
