Assistant People Business Partner with previous experience working in an HR / Human Resources advisor or generalist role, providing advice on HR policies, employment law, and employee relations, is required for a fast-paced HR team at Avanti Schools Trust, based in Stanmore, North West London. SALARY: £44,120 – £48,308 per annum pro rata (Grade 10) + Benefits LOCATION: Stanmore, North West London (HA7) JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract – with a possibility of extension WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Assistant People Business Partner with experience in HR / Human Resources advisory or generalist roles, providing advice on HR policies, employment law, and employee relations. In this role, you will partner with management to support the People Business Partner in delivering high-quality business partnering services to your schools/areas. You will support strategic people solutions, cultural transformation, and lead projects to improve staff engagement and wellbeing. As the Assistant People Business Partner, you will act as a partner to managers, empowering colleagues to deliver outstanding services to stakeholders. DUTIES Partner with management to align people strategies with business goals using data-driven insights. Provide expert advice on workforce planning, talent management, engagement, wellbeing, and organisational redesign. Drive cultural change and enhance management capabilities in people leadership and issue resolution. Support Trust-wide initiatives by contributing to People Strategy projects and developing policies. Act as a specialist in areas like EDI, mental health, or employee value proposition, offering trusted advice and solutions. Collaborate with People Services colleagues to ensure consistency and share best practices. Stay informed on legislative changes to improve people services across the Trust. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Previous experience in a HR / Human Resources generalist role. Experience supporting managers in all areas of people management, including employment offers, policies, performance, disciplinary issues, absence management, and recruitment. Experience working in a fast-paced HR team, providing first-level advice on HR policies and employment law. Experience developing or updating policies in line with employment legislation. Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation. Excellent organization and time management skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
