What You'll Do

We are looking for a Senior Web Engineering Lead to join us to build and lead a team with ownership of our web applications. We work in a fast-paced environment using the methodology to ensure we deliver meaningful projects to our customers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of engineers who will be responsible for developing all user-facing web applications at Moneybox, including the new web app that gives users access to the Moneybox platform alongside our mobile apps.
  • Hire and build the team, responsible for all areas of the recruitment process and team structure design.
  • Design, develop & release features for the web application. Ownership of the full tech stack that serves our web applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, data analysts & other technical functions to refine ideas into solutions that our customers love.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the product delivery cycle.
  • Drive the technical roadmap ensuring our project remains best in class and follows industry best practices.
  • Propose and implement improvements to our application, architecture and delivery pipeline.
  • Provide input into the overall front-end strategy. Collaborate with the Head of Front-End and leads of the mobile applications.

Our Tech Stack

The Web Application is a new addition to our tech stack at Moneybox. Therefore it’s built using modern technologies that will evolve as the project grows and is built to integrate with our existing backend services and mobile applications. This includes:

  • Server Side Rendering
  • Re-usable component library styled using Tailwind CSS
  • Zustand / TanStack Query for Data & State Management
  • Backend APIs written in C# / .NET Core
  • Infrastructure in Azure: App Services, Docker, Azure Pipelines, Webpack

Who you are

  • Highly experienced product-focused Web Engineer, preferably with 5+ years commercial experience, or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team. Able to support delivery teams to implement projects and support members' personal development.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS & Javascript/Typescript and modern web standards.
  • Experience in creating rich user interfaces and custom components. Ensuring user experience & quality is at the forefront of everything you do.
  • Experience working with relevant stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver large scale projects.
  • Experience in proposing and implementing large scale technical improvements. Keeps up to date with industry trends and spreads this knowledge throughout the team.

Working Policy:

We have a hybrid policy that includes 2 days from our London office and 3 from home. If the role states it is either hybrid or remote candidates must be based within the UK.
