A wonderful school in Slough is looking for a Mental Health Support Worker. The school is looking to employ an individual who is patient, passionate about education and looking to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. The role would be to start ASAP.
What you would do as a Mental Health Support Worker:
- The opportunity will be primarily based on supporting students in the classroom with their mental health.
- These students have trouble processing and regulating their emotions, stemming from childhood trauma, causing stress, anxiety and depression.
- You will be involved in helping them to process and regulate their emotions.
- You will be shadowing the class teacher and providing support with general classroom duties.
- You will also have the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded individuals and professionals in the education and mental health field.
The successful Mental Health Support Worker:
- Will need to be open-minded, resilient, confident and determined to help others.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt your role to fit the needs of each child.
- Previous experience working with children with mental health needs is desirable but not essential.
