Overview

Bus Driver (Trainee and Qualified) – Location: Bolton. Salary: £12.41 per hour Pre-Test, £12.41 – £14.86 per hour Passed Test, £15.51 – £17.58 per hour after 1yr & licence holder.

Our client Smiley & Co, Ltd., established in 2019 when The Go-Ahead Group took over operations at the Queens Road depot in Manchester, operates an extensive network in Greater Manchester and Salford, including the 135 route. Training will be based at the Queens Road depot, and assessments may be held there.

Responsibilities

• Navigate buses through the streets of Greater Manchester to provide safe and smooth transportation for a diverse range of passengers.
• Deliver first-class customer service and maintain a positive attitude with passengers.
• Act as a community ambassador, fostering positive connections and contributing to passenger well-being.
• Execute precise maneuvers and pilot challenging routes with professionalism.
• Collaborate with fellow drivers and support staff to exceed performance targets.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline, and camaraderie as an elite driver.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points and the right to work in the UK.
• Experience as a bus driver is welcome; enthusiastic newcomers will also be considered.
• Positive, outgoing attitude with excellent communication skills to engage passengers from all walks of life.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming onboard environment.
• Willingness to undergo training and acquire a PCV licence through the Driver Academy.
• Commitment to safety, punctuality, and teamwork to ensure smooth operation of bus services.
