We are currently seeking dedicated 3.5t Van Drivers to work with our client on a temporary basis. Our client offers a refrigerated delivery service, delivering chilled and frozen food and drink products across the UK.
As a Van Driver working with our esteemed client, you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the operations of refrigerated distribution companies. You will be an essential part of the process, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of parcels while maintaining the highest standards of service.
Working Hours: Various start times early Morning and Afternoon
The role and responsibilities:
- Safe Transportation: Ensure the safe and timely delivery of perishable goods, maintaining the required temperature throughout the journey.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance checks on the refrigerated van, including monitoring and maintaining the refrigeration unit to ensure it operates correctly.
- Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring they are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Temperature Monitoring: Regularly check and record the temperature inside the refrigerated compartment to ensure it stays within the required range.
- Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as specific guidelines related to the transportation of perishable goods.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including temperature logs, delivery times, and any issues encountered during transit.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients during deliveries, addressing any concerns they may have and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing fuel consumption and travel time.
- Emergency Handling: Be prepared to handle any emergencies, such as refrigeration unit failures, to prevent spoilage of goods.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Previous multidrop van driving experience preferred
