Job Description

The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project involves planning, design, and construction of approximately 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also responsible for an additional 260km of future interconnector pipelines and infrastructure.

The SPA GIS system supports all project phases, from consenting to construction and asset handover. As a GIS Operator, you will manage SPA’s enterprise GIS database, deliver GIS tasks (map production, survey support, analysis, automation), and identify new workflows within the GIS environment.

Attendance at the Peterborough office is required occasionally, with possible site office visits. Otherwise, work may be from the partner company office or home.

Responsibilities

1. Produce high-quality GIS outputs (maps and analysis).
2. Apply SPA GIS Standards, data management processes, and procedures.
3. Support the collection, management, analysis, and sharing of spatial data with the project team.
4. Assist in improving data management, automation, and integration processes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

1. GIS application in large-scale infrastructure projects.
2. Supporting GIS project deliverables such as EIA submissions, detailed design, and construction plans.
3. Applying GIS standards and information management principles.
4. Setting up automated GIS data workflows.
5. Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro v3.2+ and databases.
6. Utilizing GIS platforms for large infrastructure data interpretation.
7. Mobile data collection tools like ESRI Field Maps and Survey123.
8. Experience with FME software, ArcGIS API for Python, and data integration is desirable.
