Job Description

Prestwick Care is a successful family-run business in the North-East of England and we are currently recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to work Full-Time – Night Shift at Bede House. This is an amazing opportunity for a Care Assistant who is looking for that next step in their career to join Prestwick Care at an exciting time of growth for the Company.

Bede House is the newest addition to Prestwick Care since opening in December 2021. Situated in Ryhope, Bede House offers residential care for the elderly, requiring specialist care and nursing. Bede House also offers specialist care for young people with brain injury and persons suffering from underlying mental health conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the provision of care.
2. Ensure residents retain their dignity and individuality.
3. Act as a role model for the other care staff.
4. Build up good relationships with the residents.
5. Assist residents to carry out their activities of daily living e.g. washing, dressing, eating and bathing.
6. Dispense medication and ensure correct recording of all relevant information relating to medication (after satisfactory completion of the Safe Handling of Medicines course).
7. Complete, observe & review care planning needs for residents.
8. Complete and maintain accurate and legible records as instructed and in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.

What we are looking for:

1. Previous experience within the care industry OR genuine interest in working in the care environment.
2. Great communication skills both written and verbal.
3. Willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programmes.
4. Satisfactory DBS check, and check against the ISA List (where applicable).
