Role Overview: Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is currently representing a purchasing, procurement, and business services organization within the food and beverages sector. We are seeking a Senior Commercial Lawyer to join their busy legal team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The company manages the purchasing and supply of food, packaging, equipment, and business solutions for a major, globally operating restaurant franchise. Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will be an integral member of a cohesive legal team, supporting the development and delivery of enterprise-wide goals while defending and protecting the business's interests. The role involves providing a wide range of legal services across the organization.
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advise on, draft, negotiate, and execute various commercial contracts, including framework agreements, purchase contracts, distribution agreements, services contracts, trial contracts, IT contracts, NDAs, letters of intent, and termination notices.
- Advise and support the business on legal issues related to intellectual property, information technology, data, governance, and compliance.
- Drive self-service initiatives by developing tools such as templates, protocols, guidance documents, and delivering legal training.
- Establish policies, processes, and practices to ensure good governance and compliance at all organizational levels.
- Identify and manage legal risks for the business and its members.
- Provide pragmatic and solution-oriented legal advice to all functions.
About You:
- UK Qualified Solicitor
- Experience in retail, FMCG, supply chain, procurement, or fast-paced environments, especially with an international footprint (preferred).
- Knowledge and experience of corporate transactions.
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Ability to provide clear, pragmatic legal advice.
- Broad understanding of commercial law, including contract law, agency, competition law, and data protection.
- Strong collaborator and communicator, adept at cross-functional working and stakeholder management.
- Results-driven with a focus on completing tasks efficiently.
